Assistant Manager Equipment Engineering

Job Summary
The incumbent is accountable to provide continuous break-through technical solution in equipment to achieve given goals in terms of Mean Time between Assists (MTBA), Mean Time between Failures(MBTF), yield, quality, cycle time, productivity and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).

Job Responsibilities

• Train, motivate and supervise a team of technicians and/or production assistant to achieve machine Mean Time between Assists (MTBA), Mean Time between Failures (MBTF) and productivity through proper management.
• Develop and monitor machine downtime, equipment improvement activities and cost reduction for indirect material and direct material.
• Liaise with production, engineering and other support group employee during the implementation of new changes, requirements and products start up.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors on materials and machine upgrading.Evaluate machines capability for new package, material, and machine to ensure production worthiness.
• Source and evaluate vendors on technical and service capabilities and qualify equipment based on design, performance, advancement and innovation.
• Liaise and review with vendors on equipment specification and design and follow up on prompt delivery of equipment.
• Conduct and propose equipment/tooling modification for conversion, flexibility and upgrading to improve performance, cost savings and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
• Trouble shoot tooling/equipment problems and provide advice to management on short and long term solutions and preventive measures.
• People management – Lead a group of people in daily briefing session (DBS). Prepare shift performance report and updates.Employee welfare and grievances are heard and attended to accordingly (always seek win-win solution)
• Any other duties assigned by immediate superior.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Required skill(s): semiconductor engineering, leadership, knowledge of assembly processes,knowledge in semiconductor related equipment, Knowledge in preventive maintenance and equipment related.
• At least 7 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Jelapang Ipoh, Perak.
• Preferably Managers specializing in Engineering – Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent.
• Full-Time position(s) available.

• Possess working experience in semiconductor industry.
